How I Can Help
I help with an aging parent or family member in the hospital, facilitating communication with hospital staff, Our healthcare system is difficult to navigate without having an urgent need. I'm often contacted by an Adult Child that has a parent in crisis. Our Senior population is at their most vulnerable when their health is compromised. Whether living near by or out of the area, the one thing that's universal when the crisis hits, the feeling of helplessness. The lack of communication when someone you love is in the E.R., is painful. Imagine your loved one in an emergency room alone, their health at risk and no one to ensure timely, appropriate care is provided. Our worst nightmare. As their Advocate, I am able to facilitate timely, open lines of communications with updates on their condition. with clinicians and family.

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
It wasn't until I found myself helping my own elderly parents, facing a health crisis, that I realized how well my career prepared me to ensure their safety and access the quality, timely care when they needed it. Communication is often one of the biggest frustrations for families that find themselves at the mercy of E.R. staff. Clinical staff don't speak a language patients understand and on the rare occasion someone takes the time to explain, it's doubtful much of the information is retained. That moment when the clinicians know they have someone that speaks their language, they know they will be able to focus on providing care.
