How I Can Help
I have a diverse background in Health Education and direct patient care as a Family Nurse Practitioner. I can help with the management of chronic diseases, understanding a new diagnosis, negotiating healthcare bills or getting your medications at an affordable price. The first step when you join with Advocate LLC is helping you develop your Patient Health History. Despite our advanced healthcare system, medical electronic health records do not communicate effectively with each other, leading to duplication in tests/procedures, medical errors and patients who are dissatisfied with their healthcare experience. I will help organize your health history, so every time you see a provider you can give an accurate and pertinent health record.

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
I started a patient advocacy business due to a blend of my professional experience and a deep-seated desire to ensure that patients are heard and receive the care they need. I spent my childhood watching my mom advocate for her sister who has a mental disability. The positive impact on my aunt's life because of how my mom advocated for her, inspired me to go into the healthcare field. I've spent years working in the healthcare system and have observed firsthand the complexities and challenges that patients face when navigating their healthcare journey. I've been on the side of the healthcare provider as well as the patient side, when I helped my father in-law navigate his prostate cancer treatment. It was through this process of advocating for my father in-law that I realized I could make a significant difference by stepping into a more direct advocacy role.
When I started to reflect on my visits with patients, I realized that I help people the most when I'm advocating for them. In my practice as a family nurse practitioner, I saw the value of the time I give a patient in letting them share their healthcare goals and answer their questions. Healthcare isn't black and white, and too often when we go to the doctor that's how it's presented to us. The frustration with our current healthcare system, is what eventually motivated me to take the leap from healthcare provider to Patient Advocate. I was tired of not having the time to spend with patients to help them as fully as I knew I could.
