Despite our advanced healthcare system, medical electronic health records do not communicate effectively with each other, leading to duplication in tests/procedures, medical errors and patients who are dissatisfied with their healthcare experience. Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
I started a patient advocacy business due to a blend of my professional experience and a deep-seated desire to ensure that patients are heard and receive the care they need. I spent my childhood watching my mom advocate for her sister who has a mental disability. The positive impact on my aunt's life because of how my mom advocated for her, inspired me to go into the healthcare field. I've spent years working in the healthcare system and have observed firsthand the complexities and challenges that patients face when navigating their healthcare journey.
Healthcare isn't black and white, and too often when we go to the doctor that's how it's presented to us. The frustration with our current healthcare system, is what eventually motivated me to take the leap from healthcare provider to Patient Advocate. My goal as your patient advocate is to make sure your desires for your health and wellness journey are understood by those who are involved in your care.
