Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
I have worked in the medical field for almost 20 years. I started as a medical assistant in specialty to include surgery and wound care. From there I have worked in Podiatry, Wound Care, Primary Care, and Cardiovascular and Thoracic Surgery. For the last 2 years I have been a Chronic Care Manager, helping patients manage their Diabetes, COPD, heart disease/failure, kidney disease, dialysis, and cancer to name a few. What really started my journey for advocating for my patients was all the changes in health care and how I noticed certain processes when I was caring for both of my parents. Then working as a chronic care manager really increased my passion in advocating for others when I noticed how much the older population was not getting the care they needed.
As a patient advocate, I bring both the clinical expertise and the coordination skills developed through years of multidisciplinary teamwork. I'm committed to ensuring your voice is heard, your questions are answered, and your care is truly centered around you and your needs. I look forward to working with you and your family as a united team, navigating the healthcare journey together!
