Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
Throughout my professional career, I have advocated informally for friends and family members with unusual or complicated medical problems - explaining their illness in terms they could easily understand, locating and arranging appointments with qualified specialists, preparing for and going with them to second opinion consultations, and arranging for access to investigational treatments that were only available through participation in a clinical trial. As a cancer survivor myself, I also have first-hand experience with how frustrating it can be to process mountains of medical information and make difficult decisions when you're at your most frightened and vulnerable. As a result, I strongly believe that compassion and expertise should be equal partners in the process of helping others with medical problem-solving.

Additional Skills
Because of my extensive experience in working as a training consultant to life sciences companies, I am very knowledgeable about accessing investigational medications and new treatment approaches via clinical trials, as well as compassionate use and pharmaceutical assistance programs that even most doctors are unaware of.
