How I Can Help
I am a Registered Nurse and Board-Certified Patient Advocate with over a decade of clinical experience in hospital and home settings — including intensive care, progressive care, and home health. My professional background is matched by years of personal caregiving for loved ones navigating dementia, complex diagnoses, and major life transitions. These dual perspectives — clinical and personal — are what I bring to every family I serve.

As a Care Navigator, I specialize in helping families navigating the dementia journey and complex elder care situations — cutting through the confusion, coordinating the moving parts, and ensuring your loved one's voice is heard in every medical setting. I serve clients in person throughout the Tampa Bay area and remotely for select navigation services across Florida.

Services I offer include:

Attending medical appointments and ensuring the right questions get asked and answered
Coordinating care across doctors, specialists, facilities, and community resources
Reviewing, organizing, and analyzing essential medical records and healthcare information
Managing and monitoring patient portals during hospitalizations and care transitions
Facilitating clear communication between clients, care partners, and healthcare providers
Assisting with hospital discharge planning and transitions between care settings
Helping clients and families prepare for major medical decisions and important appointments
Medication organization, management, and education
Connecting clients to trusted referral partners when specialized expertise is needed

Whether you are navigating a new dementia diagnosis, managing a loved one's complex care from a distance, or simply feeling overwhelmed by the healthcare system — I bring clinical expertise, clarity, and calm to every step of the journey. For families looking for ongoing guidance and support through the dementia caregiving experience, I also offer dementia caregiver coaching and guidance — helping caregivers build confidence, reduce overwhelm, and show up for their loved ones with more knowledge and less fear.

At Caregiver Support & Resources, our team also includes Medicaid planning and asset protection expertise through my business partner Maureen Rulison, CMP, CDCP, BCPA — giving families access to clinical navigation, dementia caregiver coaching, and financial protection all under one roof.

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
My path to care navigation was born from a deeply personal place. As a registered nurse, I worked in ICU, progressive care, and home health — where I witnessed firsthand how overwhelming the healthcare system can be for patients and families. What I saw repeatedly was that clinical care alone wasn't enough. Families needed someone who could translate, coordinate, and guide — not just treat.

My passion for this work deepened when I took on caregiving responsibilities within my own family, navigating complex medical needs, long-term care planning, and the emotional weight that comes with watching someone you love move through a serious illness. Through those experiences I came to understand what families are really carrying — and how much difference a knowledgeable, compassionate guide can make.

I realized that my greatest strength lies in bridging the gap between healthcare providers and the people they serve. Care navigation allows me to combine my clinical expertise, personal caregiving experience, and genuine commitment to making sure no family has to figure this out alone.

I approach every client relationship with clarity, compassion, and a dedication to helping families make informed decisions that honor their loved one's wishes and dignity. For me, this work is more than a profession — it is a calling.

For me, this work is more than a profession — it is exactly where my clinical experience and personal experience converge.
