How I Can Help
I help older adults and families by attending their medical appointments with them. Taking note of important conversations, diagnosis, medication changes/directions, care instructions, assisting with formulating questions for medical providers, making sure that my clients understand their discharge paperwork and know their rights as patients.
I also provide bedside services during hospitalization and surgical procedures to ensure that my clients get the care that they have communicated to me and to be the ears and eyes so that they can recover with a peace of mind.

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
I became a Patient Advocate by helping, speaking up for, and finding resources for my mother, my neighbors, and church family. For more than 20 years I was going to medical appointments, using the teach back method, even before I knew the proper name for it, and asking questions on behalf of the person I was helping or helped them write the questions to ensure my family and friends were comfortable asking the questions.
It was when I was researching an alternative option for my neighbor's medical diagnosis and my father in-law's placement in a nursing facility that it dawned on me that I was a Patient Advocate.
