How I Can Help
As a patient with a chronic illness which has impacted your daily life, you and your family may feel uncertain about where to turn for support and guidance. As your healthcare advocate, I’ll meet with you to understand your perspective and what you’re hoping for. From there, my involvement may include delving into medical records and explaining what they mean, reviewing medications, and helping you understand your treatment options. Furthermore, I’ll collaborate with your providers so all are on the same page and, if needed, will make every effort to expedite your having access to the right doctors. Should the need arise, I’ll provide continuity if you transition from one level of care to another. The bottom line is that I accompany you and your loved ones such that you receive the best possible care.

Specific illnesses and syndromes that I have the most experience with include the following:
-Malignancies
-Chronic heart, lung, liver, gastro-intestinal and kidney diseases
-Neurologic disorders
-Dementias including Alzheimer’s, Fronto-temporal and Lewy Body
-Parkinson’s disease

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
During thirty-five (35) years of practice as a physician, I cared for patients in ICUs, emergency rooms, clinics, skilled nursing facilities, in-patient hospice centers and private homes. In these settings, the over-arching principle was that I would provide my patients with the very best possible care. As an advocate accompanying and guiding my clients, I remain unwaveringly allegiant and it’s my privilege to understand the toll that their illness has had upon their lives, what gives them strength, the fears they grapple with and the hopes that are dear to them. As their advocate, I do draw from my bedside experience, and I have an intimate understanding of how to best navigate the complexities of the healthcare system.
