My Survivor Support Advocacy Qualifications
I am a survivor of Survivor of loved one lost to Sepsis, Invasive Group A Streptococcus, PTSD, Major Depressive Disorder
I lost my 19 year old daughter to Sepsis caused by Group A Streptococcus. The Emergency Room I took her to when she was gravely ill, failed to recognize my daughter had all of the signs of Sepsis. The incompetent ER staff provided minimal, below standard care to my daughter. They also misdiagnosed and failed to correctly diagnose my daughter for 10 hours before she left us. I had no idea I could have contacted a Patient Advocate about the issues my daughter faced while she was in the Emergency Room and I wish I would have known then that this was an option. My mission is to help other families prevent and avoid what my daughter went through in the ER and what my family and I are now going through for losing her.
Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
I was inspired to help others after I lost my beautiful daughter Giordana to Sepsis. She did not receive the empathetic standard of care she should have received by hospital staff for over 11 long hours in the Emeregency Room, and as a result I lost her. I would like to save as many patients and families as I possibly can from substandard medical care in the hospital that results in catastrophic error or loss of life. My goal is to save families from the pain of a huge loss of life such as what I experienced.
