Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
My inspiration and desire for being a patient advocate and educator stems from my own challenges with my health. I have had Type 1 Diabetes for the past 25 years and have become empowered and overcome many challenges that come with living with a chronic disease. I believe obtaining and having the support of a team plays a big part in combatting the changes in the healthcare arena. Working as a social worker, case manager and diabetes educator in the hospital, clinics and for insurances both commercial and for Medicaid has qualified me to assist others in improving and enhancing their overall quality.
