How I Can Help
I support patients and loved ones navigating chronic illness, disability, mental health challenges, trauma, grief, eating disorder recovery, substance use, and end-of-life care. Together, we explore your options, connect with resources, and find approaches that feel right for your life. I also lead peer support groups and offer guidance in trauma-informed, accessible, and empowering ways so you can feel supported, connected, and equipped to navigate challenging experiences.

Together we can:

•Create a psychiatric advance directive that reflects your wishes
•Explore resources such as community care, benefits, accommodations, and advocacy groups
•Prepare for and navigate medical appointments, treatment choices, and care coordination
•Find emotional and spiritual support during grief, illness, or end-of-life transitions
•Clarify and prepare questions for healthcare providers or care teams
•Practice tools for coping with overwhelm, stress, and big life changes
•Have supportive conversations with loved ones about care needs, boundaries, or wishes
•Explore bodymind practices like grounding, accessible meditation, or breathwork for nervous system support
•Build connection with peer and community support networks to ease isolation

I bring extensive professional experience in peer support and behavioral health advocacy alongside lived experience as a survivor. I have served on the board of the National Association of Peer Supporters, on the NAADAC Peer Committee and LGBTQIA2S+ Committee, and have consulted with the National Council for the Center for Mental Wellbeing. I also contributed to Empowering Recovery: Ethics and Shared Decision-Making in Behavioral Health with Harborview Behavioral Health Institute, a free, self-paced, accredited training supporting client-centered care in substance use and mental health settings. My work emphasizes trauma-informed, ethical, and collaborative approaches, ensuring survivors feel empowered, supported, and respected in their care.
Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
I became a patient advocate because I know firsthand how challenging it can be to navigate healthcare and mental health systems, especially when uninsured or underinsured. I know how isolating it can feel, waiting six months and still getting no answers, not being believed, not being listened to, and being told 'it’s all in your head'. My own experiences as a survivor of childhood trauma, cervical cancer, chronic illness, chronic pain, and living with neurodivergence have shaped the way I approach care.

I want to help others feel seen, heard, and supported as they make decisions about their health and wellbeing. I draw on both my lived and living experience, along with professional training, to provide trauma-informed guidance, peer support, and advocacy that centers the person, not just their condition. I create spaces where patients and loved ones can access resources, process experiences, and gain the confidence and tools they need to navigate complex systems with clarity and empowerment.
