How I Can Help
I am working primarily to train new health advocates so that every patient may have access to an advocate and be empowered on their journey to health. My work as a health advocate has been as a generalist. I help clients through any stage of their experience in the healthcare system focusing on their needs and communication with family members and providers.

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
I have worked in healthcare for most of my life as a CNA in nursing homes, as a medical assistant in a community health center and as a physician assistant in primary care, urgent care and as a hospitalist. I have seen how the most advanced technology, medicine and medical care still could not create the excellent health outcomes our patients deserve. During my Doctor of Health Sciences program, I began thinking that there needed to be someone on the side of the patient, not just the overworked nurse and physician. Someone who looked at the entire picture of the patient's life and experience in the healthcare system and worked for them, not the healthcare organization. When I found The Bridge RN Patient Advocates, I knew that I wanted to work to promote this profession for the sake of the patients. Really, for all of us.
