Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
As a medical case manager of nearly 5 years, patient advocacy has been a key responsibility in my role, allowing me to prioritize and support the needs of patients throughout their healthcare journey. Over the years, I’ve seen my case management approach evolve to focus more on direct patient advocacy, where I guide patients in making informed decisions and empower them to take control of their health and medical care. In October 2024, I decided to take the leap and become a Board Certified Patient Advocate. Whether it's assisting patients through the insurance appeals process or providing information on clinical trials, I take great pride in serving as a patient advocate and supporting members of our community in navigating their healthcare needs.
