How I Can Help
I specialize in working with cancer patients. Cancer is a very complex disease to treat and usually involves a number of different physicians, procedures, and medications. I have more than 15 years of experience working in the healthcare industry, working on literature about cancer drugs and cancer treatment. Through my understanding of oncology and my knowledge about how the healthcare industry works--particularly in the area of cancer care--I can steer you in the right direction and ease your mind during your medical treatment.

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
I started out as a patient advocate about 12 years ago, helping friends and family members when they were diagnosed with cancer. My work in the oncology area allowed me to help them understand their diagnosis, treatment options, and how the entire cancer care system worked.
Several years ago my husband was diagnosed with cancer. It was terrifying and paralyzing. We experienced all of the fear, confusion, and anxiety triggered by those three words: "You have cancer." We met with nurses, surgeons, medical oncologists, and radiation oncologists, and discussed their recommended treatment. But I realized how difficult it is to get all of your questions answered, especially during appointments. We wanted to understand as much as possible: what the surgery would entail, how the chemo and radiation treatments would work and the possible side effects, and so many other things. It was during this time that I became passionate about helping others going through the same thing. I don't want anyone to go through this experience alone.
