How I Can Help
Hi, I'm Kayla. I'm a registered nurse with over a decade of healthcare experience. My expertise lies in intensive and critical care. Throughout my journey, I have amassed a wide range of practical skills, including adeptly managing critically ill patients, executing precise protocols during cardiac arrests, and mastering the operation of various life support equipment.
Moreover, I have nurtured a collection of invaluable intangible skills, such as providing compassionate support to families during the difficult process of losing a loved one. Additionally, I possess the ability to translate intricate medical terminology into easily understandable language, ensuring effective communication with patients and their families. Furthermore, I am imbued with the courage and grace required to advocate for patients' best interests, even when it involves respectfully challenging physicians.

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
For as long as I can remember, I have had a deep calling to help people, and an insatiable curiosity for all things related to the human body. I graduated high school with the intent to pursue medical school, but in my first year of college I realized that nurses typically spend far more time with their patients than doctors, and provide care in a more holistic, patient-centered approach. I enrolled in one of the top 100 nursing schools in the country, and became a registered nurse in June 2015. After learning basic nursing skills on a step-down unit, I transitioned to the Intensive Care Unit, and shortly after, cross-trained into the Emergency Department as well. It didn't take long for me to become frustrated with our broken healthcare system, but I didn't know how I could impact change. Then in late 2022, my path took a turn: as I discovered the realm of private patient advocacy. Advocating for my patients has always been my strongest skill set, and I truly believe this is my life's purpose.
My practice combines my two passions: patient advocacy and critical care. I provide comprehensive private patient advocacy services virtually to individuals in need of immediate guidance while hospitalized.
