How I Can Help
I help adults managing chronic or complex medical conditions or injuries feeling overwhelmed with their healthcare needs. I do not provide medical advice, treatment, or diagnosis.
I provide:
• Education and Understanding: by conducting a comprehensive chart review, simplifying and summarizing my findings, organizing reports and results, and providing education and answering questions.
• Medical Appointment and Hospitalization Preparation and Follow-Up: with pre-visit planning to create a list of questions, tips for better communication with your healthcare team, and post-visit debriefing to ensure the plan forward is clear.
* End-of-Life Planning and Advocacy: by assisting with identifying and preparing a healthcare power of attorney, facilitating discussions with family regarding emotional yet important decisions, identifying appropriate forms and professionals needed for advanced directives and to ensure wishes are honored, education on end-of-life medical options such as DNR (Do Not Resuscitate) orders, feeding tubes, breathing tubes, and artificial life support, exploring options for palliative care, hospice care, and providing emotional support, and emergency planning and preparedness by creating a comprehensive emergency plan for unexpected health events and organizing paperwork, passwords, accounts, and essential documents.

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
I’ve Been In Your Shoes
It’s heartbreaking to see someone you love feel overwhelmed by the healthcare system. It can be a sad, scary place that leaves people feeling worried and alone. I remember exactly where I was when I received the phone call from my dad's doctor in Arizona telling me about "something they found on the scan."
He was wintering in Arizona when he was diagnosed with a brain tumor at a hospital that didn't have any specialists and no capabilities to get an MRI. There were no hospitals nearby where he could receive the care he needed. After many phone calls, I was able to connect them with the team at the University of Wisconsin. He boarded a plane and within 12 hours of landing he had his MRI and was in the OR having surgery.
Being able to take the stress, worry, and unknown out of a scary situation for my parents was just the start of my passion for advocacy. Since then I have helped him communicate with his care team so he is receiving the treatment he wants, his way, so he maintains the quality of life that he desires.
Since then, I have been able to support multiple family members and friends with concerns from neurologic disorders, cardiothoracic surgery, and more.
I am blessed to have the education and experience of a physician and I want to share this insider knowledge of medicine and the healthcare system with you.
I do not give medical advice, treatment, or diagnosis. I also cannot "fix" the system.
