As a dual certified Child Life Specialist and Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, I empower children and adolescents to understand and cope with their own illness or that of a family member. I am specifically trained to coach caregivers on language and techniques to use when parenting their child through medical illnesses, family life transitions, and traumatic loss. I am also available for school and community consultation when there is an ill child or parent.

With my dual degrees and specialized experience with illness and grief, I incorporate cognitive behavioral therapy techniques, play-based interventions, and a strength-based approach to personalize clinically appropriate interventions that reduce potential fear, distress, and anxiety. In-home or in-office interventions include: developmentally appropriate education, therapeutic activities, coping techniques, grief processing, legacy building, and bereavement services as well as coordinating school services when necessary and connecting families to professional organizations and community resources.
