As a nurse I saw patients overwhelmed and unable to speak up for themselves. This uncertainty and lack of knowledge has worsened in our current health care delivery model. This model focuses on a business approach first and a patient outcome approach second. Patients are lost in the shuffle, don't speak "medical: language and feel powerless to find solutions. I experienced this first hand when I suffered a critical illness and became a patient in an intensive care unit. Drawing on my nursing background, I was able to effectively navigate the many speed bumps encountered in a critical illness. However, it was ridiculously complex to do so, and far beyond the skill set of the average patient. My determination to start a Patient Advocacy business was born from this experience. I aim to help clients effectively problem solve their healthcare problems and navigate a clear path through the medical maze. No one should experience a poor outcome because they had no voice
