How I Can Help
I advocate for the patient with the healthcare team, or by empowering family/friend advocates to partner with the patient's healthcare team in a positive way to make sure the patient's voice is heard, guaranteeing the best healthcare outcomes possible for the patient. I can coach you or your own patient advocate on the questions to ask in the healthcare arena and who to ask them to. I can be the liaison between you, your doctor and your family at your health provider's office or in the hospital. I can research available community resources that you might not know about and help you find the right healthcare providers to help you with your medical issues.

When the best efforts are unsuccessful in achieving good outcomes, As an End of Life-Death Doula, I help families with those difficult end of life conversations and preparations to assure their loved one a beautiful death experience.

I have been a nurse since 1972. I am passionate about every healthcare consumer having a voice in any health care setting. If you explore my free website, klemonsHealthCareConsulting.com you will see all of the advocacy and empowerment resources I offer to patients, seniors, caregivers and healthcare staff.

My Survivor Support Advocacy Qualifications
I am a survivor of Lung cancer; young adult son w/ cancer.
Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
As a young nurse, I worked at a NYC public hospital. Many of my patients were homeless. Few of them had family to advocate for them. Few of them had a voice. I become impassioned early on in my career to make sure that each one of my patients had a voice. I went to graduate school to become a nurse educator. If I couldn't fix the system, perhaps I could fix the process by teaching nursing students how to advocate for their patients. To teach them how to empower their patients with a voice. To teach them why empowered patients is a good thing. I remain committed to that passion after a 49 year career.

In 2016, my own young adult son was diagnosed with two life-threatening diagnoses. After spending 47 days and nights with him in the hospital, and caregiving and advocating for him for 9 months, I added Warrior Mom to my resume.
