Ms. Buckley has been a Health/Patient Advocate for over three decades while living with a chronic pain condition. She works with individuals and their family/caregivers to access appropriate healthcare services to address their most pressing needs. Maintaining a robust network with other Health Advocates enables her to refer clients to specialist Advocates as needed. She has served on the boards of several non-profit patient and professional organizations. On the subject of healthcare, she has testified at local, state and federal policy hearings, spoken at conferences and in the media, written articles, and coached hundreds of people to self-advocate for better care written articles.

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
Through lived experience with her own chronic health issues and those of past clients, friends and family, Ms. Buckley has firsthand knowledge of the impact that having a health advocate on the care team can have. Conditions that she is familiar with include Alpha1 Antitrypsin Deficiency, angiodysplasia of intestines, arthritis, asthma, cancer, celiac sprue, chronic pain, concussion, costochondritis, depression, diverticular disease, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, Loeys-Dietz Syndrome, Marfan Syndrome, end of life care, endometriosis, endometriosis, fibromyalgia, GEED, hypothyroidism, irritable bowel syndrome, migraine, Reynauds, spinal stenosis, stroke, vulvodynia.

Ms. Buckley currently volunteers in many roles for the organizations that support people with Heritable Connective Tissue Disorders like Loeys-Dietz Syndrome, Marfan Syndrome and Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome.
She has served on the boards of The Pain Community, Ehlers-Danlos National Foundation, American Pain Foundation, Academy of Integrative Pain Management. Other volunteer experience has been with Northern California Pain Care Initiative, National Fibromyalgia Association, American Cancer Society, Special Olympics, Rare Disease Legislative Advocacy (RDLA) and National Organization for Rare Disorders (NORD).
