Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
I've always thought that good information and understanding are key to good health and good health decisions.I practiced that way when I worked in the hospital educating my patients and at a company whose mission was patient education. Then when my own parents became ill, I learned just how broken the health care system was, even with my knowledge. When it was time to go back to work after raising my children, I knew people needed more help than ever with the ways medical care was changing. That was when I found patient advocacy and I knew I had found my new mission.
