How I Can Help
With Beacon RN, patients and families move from feeling anxious, overwhelmed, and alone to feeling confident, calm, and fully supported.
My patients often tell me: “I used to dread the weekends, worrying about what would happen if I had questions or needed help. With you, I knew I had someone to call anytime. You helped me feel more confident in my decisions and less afraid to move forward.” Others share that my calm presence and clear explanations gave them empowerment, reassurance, and trust that they could face the hardest moments with knowledge and strength. Families describe me as “the nurse in the family they wish they had” — someone smart, resourceful, and steady when they need it most.
Here’s how I help patients and loved ones through breast cancer:
Explain pathology and test results in plain language
Clarify treatment pathways (surgery, oncology, genetics, radiation, hormone-blocking therapy, palliative care)
Prepare for and attend appointments, create question lists, take notes, and debrief afterward
Provide education classes for patients and families on chemotherapy, breast surgery, plastic/reconstructive surgery, radiation, hormone-blocking medications, and lymphedema risk reduction
Offer strategies for side effect management and survivorship planning
Coordinate care across multiple specialists for a seamless, whole-person, whole-family experience
The value of my advocacy is empowerment — creating a shift forward in the cancer journey when patients and families might otherwise feel frozen in place. With my guidance, they save time, money, and energy while moving from fear and confusion to clarity, confidence, and peace of mind. Instead of feeling lost in the medical system, they gain the confidence of being informed, supported, and empowered to make the best decisions for themselves and their loved ones.Coordinate care across multiple specialists for a seamless, whole-person, whole-family experience

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
I created Beacon RN to be the trusted “nurse in the family” for patients and families facing the life-changing diagnosis of breast cancer. Too often, people step into this journey without the knowledge, tools, or support they need. I became an advocate to bridge those gaps — offering clarity when everything feels confusing, calm when fear takes hold, and direction when the path ahead feels overwhelming.
My nursing career began over 20 years ago with the tiniest of patients — premature babies — and expanded across the lifespan into oncology and cancer care. But my purpose came when cancer and serious illness touched my own family.
In 2020, my father was diagnosed with liver cancer. I became his nurse navigator and advocate, helping my parents navigate complex medical language, fragmented communication, and constant uncertainty. Later, my husband experienced a heart attack and my son suffered a traumatic brain injury and spinal fracture. These experiences made me both the nurse in the family and the caregiver — the person in the room who could speak up, ask the right questions, and prevent harm.
That’s where my personal and professional worlds intersect. My years of oncology nursing gave me the skills. My family’s stories gave me the purpose.
I became a breast cancer nurse advocate, coach, and doula because families don’t know what they don’t know — and that can make an already difficult journey even harder. My mission is to stand in that gap, bringing clinical expertise and heartfelt empathy so patients and families feel supported, informed, and never alone.
Beacon RN exists because cancer care requires more than medicine.
It requires guidance, advocacy, and a steady light in the storm. That is the role I embrace with every patient and family I serve.
