How I Can Help
✅ Care Navigation & Appointment Coordination
Managing multiple specialists can be overwhelming. I coordinate appointments, prepare your questions, and close communication gaps—so nothing falls through the cracks and you feel confident about your next steps.
✅ Accompaniment & In-Visit Advocacy
Appointments move fast and questions can get lost. I attend visits virtually or in person to ensure your concerns are voiced, your questions answered, and your care plan followed.
✅ Medication Reconciliation & Safety Reviews
Multiple medications can be confusing and risky. I review your bottles to create one accurate “source of truth” list shared across all providers. I identify duplications, interactions, and confirm treatment plans with your care team. I clarify why each medication was prescribed, flag drugs continued unnecessarily, and check for missed contraindications. I also teach proper timing, diet considerations, and ways to avoid reduced effectiveness. (AHRQ)
✅ Chronic Condition “Best-Practice” Check-Ups
I review treatment plans for conditions such as diabetes, heart failure, COPD, and hypertension against published best-practice guidelines—sharing recommendations with your providers.
✅ Post-Op & Complex-Care Coordination
After surgery or complex procedures, I monitor recovery, coach on safe practices, and escalate issues early to help prevent complications and ER returns.
✅ Hospital-to-Home Transition Coaching (30–90 Days)
Discharge is one of the riskiest points in care. I review your plan, schedule follow-ups, monitor red flags, and support caregivers—helping prevent avoidable readmissions. (CMS)
✅ Hospice Support & End-of-Life Advocacy
End-of-life decisions can be overwhelming. I provide compassionate advocacy by aligning comfort measures with patient wishes, clarifying treatment options, and supporting informed choices. I facilitate communication, address pain concerns, and keep dignity at the center of care—ensuring families feel supported every step of the way.
✅ Readmission-Risk Reduction Plans
Patients often return to the hospital because details are missed. I develop personalized follow-up and self-management plans, review medications, and align your care team to reduce repeat ER visits. (NCBI)
✅ Second-Opinion Preparation & Specialist Matching
Some second-opinion providers collaborate with your original doctor, affecting objectivity. I research specialists, prepare records, timelines, and questions so you get the most value from your consult. (PMC)
✅ Advance Care Planning
I guide values-based conversations and help complete essential forms so your goals are clear to your care team and family.
✅ Benefits & Logistics Coaching
Healthcare is stressful enough without paperwork. I help with insurance inquiries, transportation, caregiver education, and community resources—especially vital for older adults and families in suburban Cook County. (AgeOptions)
✅ Chronic Pain Advocacy & Care Coordination
Chronic pain is too often dismissed. I advocate for evidence-based options that truly address pain, review medication risks, and ensure your team treats your symptoms seriously—without bias or unsafe shortcuts.

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
My daughter nearly died after hip surgery at one of the nation’s top-rated hospitals, performed by a world-renowned surgeon. Despite my 20 years as an ICU nurse and board-certified acute care nurse practitioner, I found myself powerless—watching her vital signs deteriorate for twelve hours while pleading with staff to take action.

When I raised concerns, I was told her vitals were “normal for her age.” I knew they weren’t. She had lost more than half her blood volume, yet my warnings were dismissed as overreaction or dehydration. I used every bit of my critical care training to keep her stable—keeping her flat to improve perfusion and refusing physical therapy that could have worsened her condition. I stayed calm and composed, knowing that if I appeared “difficult,” I risked being ignored completely.

By 11 p.m., after twelve hours of fighting to be heard, the rapid response team was finally called. My daughter was in critical condition, but after receiving a blood transfusion, she began to recover.

That night changed everything for me. It reminded me that no amount of medical knowledge protects patients or families from being dismissed or unseen. If I hadn’t known what to watch for, my daughter wouldn’t have survived.

This was only one of many experiences that revealed the deep gaps in our healthcare system. Today, I use those lessons—and my decades in critical care, education, and hospital leadership—to make sure no family has to endure what we did. I founded my advocacy practice to protect patients from silence, delay, and bias.

My mission is simple: to ensure every patient is heard, respected, and safe. I will not stop fighting for you!

Professional Affiliations
Over 20 years of clinical experience in intensive care, hospital administration, and clinical education at major academic medical centers including University of Chicago Medicine.

I am also a mother with a child that has chronic illness that I have had to learn how to get the access and diagnosis for.

I understand how overwhelming healthcare can feel—because I’ve lived it. As both a chronic illness patient and a board-certified nurse practitioner with over 20 years in hospitals, education, and administration, I’ve experienced the system from every angle. Despite working in medicine, I struggled to receive accurate diagnoses, safe treatments, and coordinated care for myself and my child. Those experiences inspired me to dedicate my career to helping others navigate the system successfully.

Professionally, I trained and practiced in leading academic medical centers, including University of Chicago Medicine, University of Illinois Chicago, and Northwestern Medicine, where I was recognized for my expertise in critical care policy development, clinical education, and updating evidence-based treatment guidelines. Today, I bring that same level of precision and advocacy to my clients—helping them understand their care, communicate effectively with providers, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks.

My mission is to challenge healthcare bias, systemic inequities, and the dismissal of patient concerns.

I serve as a trusted medical advocate and expert navigator—someone who understands both the medicine and the human experience behind every diagnosis.
