Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
After more than 25 years in healthcare, I realized that the part of my work I valued most was advocating for patients. I loved helping people understand what was happening, making sure their questions were answered, helping them speak up, and making sure their needs didn’t get lost in a complicated healthcare system.

Over time, I realized advocacy wasn’t just one part of my nursing career—it was the part I cared about most. That led me to focus on patient advocacy full time and found Ascent Patient Advocates.

Today, I use my healthcare experience and knowledge of the healthcare system to help adults, older adults, and families feel more informed, organized, and supported. As an independent advocate, I work directly for my clients, keeping their goals, preferences, and priorities at the center.
