Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
I founded Purely Authentic Life out of a deep, personal calling to help others navigate the overwhelming world of chronic illness and healthcare. After being diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2018, I discovered that stress and unhealthy habits were major contributors to my pain. As I began to heal through better nutrition, fitness, and faith, I felt a tug on my heart to help others do the same.

My journey as a patient advocate began long before my diagnosis. For the past 26 years, I’ve advocated for my son, who was born with Spina Bifida. Doctors once told me he wouldn’t live past 20, but I refused to accept that. I asked hard questions, pushed for second opinions, and refused to give up. Today, he’s thriving—living independently, working, and even advocating for others through the Special Olympics.

I’ve also walked beside my parents through life-threatening illnesses. My father tragically passed after doctors failed to work together. That experience still drives me to ensure no other family is left in the dark like we were. My mother now has someone in her corner—me—and since I started advocating for her, her ER visits have dropped dramatically.

My husband’s story is another reminder of why advocacy matters. After years of unsuccessful treatments for foot ulcers related to diabetes, we found a doctor who looked deeper and saved his foot and leg. Had we not gotten a second opinion, the outcome would’ve been devastating.

These stories are not just part of my past—they’re the reason I do this work. I believe no one should navigate healthcare alone. Whether you're managing a chronic condition, caring for an aging parent, or just want a clearer path to wellness, I’m here to walk with you.

If I had it my way, everyone would have a patient advocate and health coach.
