Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
From my years as a nurse to my new path as a patient advocate, my reason for helping others is deeply personal. One of my earliest experiences with healthcare’s complexities happened within my own family. My grandfather, a figure of strength in my life, dealt with undiagnosed heart issues, worsened by the reality that he—and we—lacked the knowledge to recognize the warning signs or to seek medical attention early enough.
