Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
From my years as a nurse to my new path as a patient advocate, my reason for helping others is deeply personal. One of my earliest experiences with healthcare’s complexities happened within my own family. My grandfather, a figure of strength in my life, dealt with undiagnosed heart issues, worsened by the reality that he—and we—lacked the knowledge to recognize the warning signs or to seek medical attention early enough. Watching him struggle, I knew that if we’d had someone there to help us understand what was happening, things might have turned out differently.

That experience taught me that healthcare is more than just medicine; it’s about people and their well-being. It’s about being there for someone when they don’t have the answers, helping them ask the right questions, and standing with them in their moments of vulnerability. That’s why I chose this path—so others wouldn’t feel alone or lost when navigating the healthcare system.

If my story resonates with you, if you or someone you love feels overwhelmed by the journey, know that you don’t have to face it alone. I’m here to support, guide, and stand with you every step of the way.
