How I Can Help
I assist seniors and their families to navigate the complexities of aging care, by providing assessments and facilitating family meetings / care conferences to develop a plan of care (home care, home health, facility placement, community resource engagement, family caregiving etc).
We also help by assisting the patient that doesn't feel that they are being "heard" by their health care practitioner(s). I assist them with developing a plan of communication (written, phone, in office), and provide support and follow-up to ensure that the patient feels that their needs are being heard and a plan of action is put in place.

But any patient who needs their voice to be heard, or needs a compassionate person to join them on their healthcare journey is welcome in my practice.

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
My journey to Advocacy and becoming a patient advocate was guided by my own personal experiences with Cancer, Caregiving and trying to navigate the health care system. I often felt helpless- like we were just "another fish" in the "big 'ole sea". I did what I could as a family advocate for my loved ones. I learned everything I could so that I knew I wouldn't be able to look back and say I didn't "try".

I my personal life I have helped advocate for family members who suffered a variety of ailments: leukemia, breast cancer, testicular cancer, dementia, heart disease, limb amputation and more. Doctors and nurses were complementing me on my thoughtful questions and insights during appointments and my follow through with resources to aid my loved one in their time of need.
In 2014, putting my BSW degree to work in the field of geriatrics. I soon found myself advocating for seniors who had little to no family, or lacked a support system. I provide hope and support for family members feeling lost or overwhelmed with making decisions for their loved ones.
Once I was introduced to the field of Patient Advocacy, I knew this was for me. I can help more families navigate the ever changing health care world.
