How I Can Help
I am a trusted Health Advocate, board-certified (BCPA) and experienced in assisting patients with insurance billing, claims resolution, and other healthcare financial concerns. With a deep understanding of the healthcare system and a commitment to patient advocacy, I am dedicated to helping you achieve the best possible outcomes through:
• Insurance Billing Guidance: I will assist you in understanding your medical bills, ensuring that you are not overcharged, and helping you identify any discrepancies or errors in billing.
• Claims Resolution: I work with insurance companies on your behalf to resolve denied or underpaid claims, making sure you receive the coverage and reimbursement you are entitled to.
• Appeals Process: If your claim has been denied, I will guide you through the appeals process, providing the necessary documentation and support to strengthen your case.
• Cost Estimation: I will help you estimate the costs of medical procedures and services, allowing you to plan and budget effectively for your healthcare expenses.
• Benefit Maximization: I will review your insurance policy to ensure you are taking full advantage of all available benefits and coverage options.
• Care Coordination when your care and treatment plan seems very disjointed. I will coordinate your providers into an integrated plan so that no aspect of your care is "missed" from multiple provider sources working with you.

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
Not only am I an expert in health medical and prescription insurance benefits, but I understand all the different types of benefits, network restrictions, and how to speak the "health care language" when talking to customer service representatives, doctors offices, and specialists. I know how to ask the right questions and when a claim needs to be rebilled by a provider. I can work to improve your out of pocket liability as well as help coordinate your care in the highest quality, most affordable manner possible.

Beyond my experience, I assisted my own mother before she passed away, with her claims, speaking with her doctors, setting up appointments with network providers, and ensuring she was not upcharged or taken advantage of. She was extremely hard of hearing and needed to ensure she understood what was happening with her care, the coordination and ultimately the insurance nuances.

When my stepson had brain cancer, I took the heavy load off my husband, (his father), and his mother by assuring them that they only needed to stay at his side for surgeries and treatments. I handled all the claims, the phone calls to providers, all the administrative stuff, and ensured he was receiving full coverage while undergoing a clinical trial. I worked with the insurance and providers to help find drugs and services that would be covered under his insurance despite the challenges of his care being a clinical trial.

Having someone to take the administrative burden off your hands is essential to focusing on your or your loved one's health. There is enough stress. Don't let phone calls and wait times with insurance and providers get in the way of what's the most important - the health and wellbeing of you or your loved one.

No patient should ever have to navigate through their own medical experience. I have experienced first hand that not having an advocate at your side can have serious implications. I myself was a victim of a misdiagnosis and failed hospital staff.

Additional Skills
I understand that navigating the complexities of insurance billing and claims resolution can be overwhelming and stressful. That’s why I'm dedicated to offering expert services, ensuring that you receive the support and guidance you need to manage your healthcare finances effectively.
For background, I've worked 20 plus years in medical and drug insurance, have full understanding of the medical complexities that only get worse each year. I've advocated for my own clients and their employees when they were "stuck". I won't stop until I resolve a problem. I am skilled at securing alternative funding for prescription drugs which is a complex and time-consuming process. Most patients don't realize that they can save hundreds of dollars on their medications once the right channels are explored. Or that they have rights that insurance companies and providers don't tell you about. I can effectively navigate this process for you. Examples of where I have experience in navigating:
Insurance Billing and Guidance
Rare cancers
Specialty drug management and alternative funding
Elder care coordination
Transgender benefits
LBGTQ benefits and social issues
Auto-immune complex conditions
