Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
My love for all things healthcare-related began at just 5 years old. My mother was a medical biller and would take me to her office after school every day where I thought it was more exciting to write on blank outdated claim forms than to ride bikes with my friends. By age 12, I had helped my family through the challenging journeys of a grandmother with Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS) and a grandfather with Stage 4 Lung Cancer. I officially began working in a medical office after school and during the summers when I was 16. From there, I've had the pleasure of working in many areas of the industry including front desk, surgery scheduling, operations management, billing, coding, revenue cycle, and auditing.

Looking back, I know my own health journey would have had a much better outcome if I had someone advocating for me in my most vulnerable moments. Year after year as a teen, my physical pain and mental health were dismissed by medical professionals. By the time I started college, I realized that I had no choice but to take control of my health journey. I sought out new doctors and wouldn’t take '“no” for an answer. I started teaching myself how to be my own advocate and how to use my years of experience in the medical field to help me out of the pain and confusion I was experiencing. All of the challenges and the pain I experienced led me to helping others. Please reach out to me today to learn how I can help you in your own personal health journey. You're not alone!
