Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
I was 15 when my grandfather was dying from Cancer. It was then that I saw my grandmother navigate the healthcare system for my grandfather and it was not always easy. I became a nurse because of this and have spent my career going above and beyond for the client. As a home health nurse for the last 13 years I have seen our elderly get poor care, trouble getting auth for treatment with managed medicare plans, lack of communication with MD's about diseases and medications. I am very passionate about helping all people but especially those that are my elders and have worked hard to get where they are and to give them the help they deserve. I strive to help family members know that their parents/grandparents are getting the best care possible while understanding their choices and empowering autonomy in decision making process.
