Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
Growing up and into adulthood I was the primary caretaker and decision maker for a parent with a chronic, degenerative illness and also experienced my father's terminal illness as a teenager. Having experienced the stress of making major healthcare decisions for my parents prior to becoming an RN, as well numerous medical errors and instances of medical negligence I am empathetic to the experiences and stress that patients and their family members go through.
