Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
Growing up, I watched my nana face serious health challenges, and I quickly became her advocate, helping her manage appointments, ask the right questions, and make sure her voice was heard. That experience showed me how overwhelming the healthcare system can feel, especially for families navigating it alone.
Today, at 94, my nana is still with us, and I continue to serve as her healthcare advocate and healthcare proxy. Walking alongside her all these years has deepened my understanding of what families truly need. The support, clarity, and compassion.
Inspired by both my nana’s journey and my father’s dedication as a doctor, I spent over 15 years working in clinical and managerial healthcare roles. Along the way, I realized my true calling was to guide individuals and families through these same challenges with care and confidence.
I became a patient advocate to ensure no one has to walk their healthcare journey alone. My role is to listen, provide trusted guidance, and connect people with the right resources—always with compassion, integrity, and the same devotion I give my nana. Helping others through difficult transitions isn’t just my work—it’s my purpose.
