Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
My passion for helping others has been at the heart of my career in healthcare for more than three decades.
I began my healthcare journey as a Licensed Psychiatric Technician, working with individuals who were severely developmentally and medically compromised. This experience shaped my desire to advocate for individuals who may not have a voice or who can be easily dismissed.
I went on to become a Registered Nurse, intentionally working in a variety of healthcare settings because I wanted to understand both the medical and surgical fields and become a well-rounded nurse. Over the years, my experience has included Medical-Surgical, Case Management, Hospice, and Residential Care.
I have also had the privilege of assisting loved ones with end-of-life care and helping families navigate the healthcare system during some of the most difficult and uncertain times in their lives.
Throughout my career, I have seen firsthand both the successes and failures of the healthcare system. I have witnessed what can happen when communication works as it should, as well as the challenges that arise when questions go unanswered, concerns are dismissed, or people simply don't know how to navigate the system.
You don't know what you don't know. I believe everyone should understand their rights and have the information they need to participate in their healthcare decisions.
I believe wholeheartedly in informed decision-making and the difference it can make in a person's healthcare journey. Compassion and empathy have always been an important part of who I am, and advocacy has naturally been woven throughout my entire career.
I offer a complimentary 30-minute consultation to help you identify what you need to navigate your healthcare situation. My goal is to provide you with the information and tools you need—even if that means you discover you don't need me.
Ultimately, my goal is simple: to help you have a voice in your healthcare decision-making.
