Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
Assisting her grandparents with navigating through chronic conditions she recognized the need for advocates for the elderly. Then she went back to school for her Master's degree so she could advocate for those who can not advocate for themselves or assist families with finding appropriate resources. She has been a resident advocate in nursing homes as a volunteer Ombudsman and a Certified Benefits Counselor through the Department of Aging and Disability. Nicole has volunteered with Meals-on-Wheels, military organizations throughout her husband's military service, and the Alzheimer’s Association. Additionally, Nicole has attained certifications as a CMC, Care Manager, Certified, and CDP, Certified Dementia Practitioner.
