Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
I have always enjoyed helping people and began volunteering in nursing homes in high school. After my grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease, I changed my major to Healthcare Administration and pursued a license as a nursing home administrator.

My career went in many directions, but most recently in 2018 nursing homes became a reality of my personal life when I had to admit my father to a facility at the age of 67. He passed in 2019 and shortly after my younger brother was diagnosed with stage 3 esophageal cancer.

With the COVID pandemic, I faced professional challenges as an Administrator that clearly provided me with an understanding of our industry challenges - there is an extreme shortage of caregivers and the healthcare industry is not able to treat people with care anymore.

Over the next six years, I helped my mother care for my brother in her home. He battled through three rounds of treatments, two episodes of remission, removal of his stomach, the insertion of a jejunostomy tube for feeding, multiple surgeries and much more.

He fought like an Irishman to have his voice heard and manage his own plan of care. It was very difficult to witness his battle and it empowered me to fight harder for patient rights.

After my brother passed in February 2026, I decided to pursue a career as an independent patient advocacate. Familiar with all aspects of care including acute, community based, continuums of care, assisted living, skilled nursing, home health, homecare, hospice, respite, etc. I am passionate about educating families.

I aim to help walk through the aging process with you from the start, but I will meet you at any point in your care journey - even an emergency.

Additional Skills
What makes me different? Other than my name...

I can read a room, which I find to be a skill that many healthcare professionals and others can lack.

My experience has taught me that the patient is always right as long as they are educated and making their own informed decision.

I believe advocacy starts with listening and care matters more than health services.
