I was inspired to become a patient advocate because I understand how confusing and frightening it can be to receive life-changing news. Coming from a family with a history of cancer and autoimmune conditions, I witnessed firsthand how language barriers, a complicated healthcare system, and unhelpful insurance can cause patients to lose faith in their care. I watched my mother try and navigate a health system in a new country and with a single income while navigating my father being in hospice. For the past five years, I have had the privilege of caring for patients in primary care, guiding them through the complexities of the healthcare system during some of the toughest moments in their lives. I am passionate about helping patients overcome hardships, navigate complex diagnoses, and manage financial challenges with empathy and dedication. My mission is to close the gaps in healthcare by being a fierce advocate, ensuring patients receive the care they deserve, helping them stay healthy and out of the hospital, and inspiring them to never let illness define who they are or limit their potential.
