How I Can Help
First, a little bit about me! I'm a Registered Nurse with a background spanning critical care, infusion, home health, ambulatory, and insurance settings, giving me both the clinical grounding and the systems fluency to solve the complex healthcare system puzzles. I'm also a birth and death doula, which shapes how I show up for patients and families during transitions: with presence, patience, and comfort navigating uncertainty. I hold a degree in nutrition and am a trained lymphatic drainage therapist, and I'm a yoga instructor, together these inform a genuinely whole-person approach to wellness. I'm also an insatiable learner: a health podcast junkie and lifelong reader who tracks everything from pop culture wellness trends to clinical trial results. Above all, I love patient care.

As a patient advocate with Amma, I help patients and families navigate the practical and emotional complexity of managing a health condition, meeting them where they are and helping them get to where they want to go.

* Navigating the system. I help patients understand insurance benefits, find and build the right care team of PCPs and specialists, and coordinate care so nothing falls through the cracks between appointments.

* Advocating for yourself. I support patients in understanding and asserting their rights within a complex healthcare system, and help caregivers navigate the demands of caring for a loved one.

* Holding space. Living with a health condition carries real emotional weight. I offer a steady, non-judgmental place to process the complexities of chronic illness and do the mental and emotional work that managing health sometimes requires.

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
My path to patient advocacy hasn't been a straight line, but every part of it has mattered. As a Registered Nurse, I kept encountering the same gap across every setting I worked in: the systems patients have to navigate to get care add exponential stress and complexity to an already hard situation. I saw families lost in insurance denials during their worst moments, and chronically ill patients left on hold for 90 minutes just to get an answer. Every one of those experiences shaped how I show up now. Patient advocacy is where it all comes together, clinical knowledge, systems fluency, and the comfort of sitting with people through uncertainty, in service of one thing: making sure no one faces the hardest parts of their health journey alone.
