How I Can Help
Are you managing a complicated medical condition, struggling with insurance, or feeling overwhelmed trying to coordinate your healthcare? I work with adults, older adults, veterans, and families who need someone in their corner to help them understand their options, overcome barriers, and get the care and support they need.
As a Registered Nurse, Certified Professional Coder, and independent patient advocate, I combine my healthcare experience with a practical, compassionate approach to helping patients navigate the healthcare system.
Here's how I can help you:
1. Medical Appointments & Care Coordination: I'll help you prepare questions for appointments, organize your medical information, follow up on referrals, and coordinate communication between your healthcare providers.
2. Insurance Denials & Appeals: I'll help you understand insurance denials, review coverage information, gather supporting documentation, and navigate the appeals process.
3. Medical Bills & Billing Errors: I'll review medical bills and insurance explanations of benefits (EOBs), help identify potential discrepancies, and assist with billing disputes and financial assistance options.
4. Chronic & Complex Conditions: I'll help you organize care involving multiple diagnoses, specialists, treatments, and follow-up appointments so important details don't fall through the cracks.
5. Hospital Discharge & Care Transitions: I'll help you understand discharge instructions, identify follow-up needs, coordinate services, and address obstacles to a safe transition home.
6. Home Health & Medical Equipment: I'll help you navigate referrals, coverage requirements, and provider communication for home health services, mobility equipment, and other medically necessary supplies.
7. Medicare, Medicaid & VA Healthcare Navigation: I'll help you understand available benefits, coverage requirements, and the steps involved in accessing healthcare services.
8. Finding Providers & Specialists: I'll research appropriate healthcare providers, help identify insurance participation, and assist with referrals, second-opinion arrangements, and appointment coordination.
9. Community Resources & Financial Assistance: I'll research programs that may help with transportation, food, housing, utilities, medical expenses, and other barriers affecting your ability to receive care.
10. Medical Records & Healthcare Organization: I'll help you request records, create an organized medical binder, prepare medical histories and medication lists for provider review, and keep track of important appointments and follow-up needs.
My goal is to help you feel informed, prepared, and supported. Whether you're facing a new diagnosis, managing ongoing medical needs, or trying to get answers from the healthcare system, I'll work alongside you to help make the process easier to navigate.
You deserve to be heard, understand your options, and have someone advocating for your needs.

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
My journey into patient advocacy began with a simple realization: even when patients receive excellent medical care, they can still be left struggling to navigate everything that happens outside the exam room.
As a Registered Nurse, I've seen how overwhelming healthcare can become when patients are juggling multiple specialists, confusing insurance requirements, financial concerns, and unanswered questions. I've also seen how much of a difference it makes when someone takes the time to listen, explain the process, and help patients find a way forward.
My healthcare career began in the U.S. Army as a health inspector before I transitioned into nursing, healthcare administration, medical coding, and patient advocacy. Each experience has given me a different perspective on the challenges patients face and the systems they must navigate.
I became an independent patient advocate because I wanted to spend more time addressing those challenges, helping people access resources, coordinate their care, and feel supported through difficult healthcare situations.
I believe patients deserve more than a list of phone numbers or instructions to follow up on their own. They deserve someone who listens, takes their concerns seriously, and is willing to help them work through the obstacles standing between them and the care they need.
That's the kind of advocate I strive to be: approachable, dependable, resourceful, and genuinely invested in helping the people I serve.
I've watched patients struggle to understand their diagnoses, navigate insurance requirements, communicate with multiple providers, and access services they genuinely need. Many times, the biggest challenge wasn't a lack of available care. It was simply not knowing where to start, who to contact, or what questions to ask.
Those experiences shaped how I approach patient care and ultimately led me to establish Aria The Advocate.
My background in nursing, healthcare administration, and medical coding allows me to understand both the clinical and administrative sides of healthcare. But what matters most to me is making sure the person behind the medical record never gets lost in the process.
I believe patients deserve to be heard, treated with dignity, and included in decisions about their own health. They deserve someone who will listen, explain things without making them feel uncomfortable asking questions, and help them work through challenges that can otherwise feel impossible.
That's the kind of advocate I strive to be. Someone patients and families can trust to be in their corner, help them find answers, and make an already difficult situation a little easier.
Your health. Your voice. My priority.
It's more than the motto behind my business. It's the foundation of how I advocate for every person I serve.
