How I Can Help
I have over 7 years of experience advocating for everything from orthopedic surgery and neurological MRIs to Social Security reinstatement and medication exceptions. I have an extensive background in managing homes, the lives, and the care of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, but have worked with people from all walks of life. If you're trying to:
- understand or manage a new diagnosis or a chronic one
- find a new physician or a second opinion
- make heads or tails of bills, benefits, and insurance
- create systems to manage your health or medications comfortably at home
- get your care team to talk to each other efficiently
- plan for the future or find a good placement for long-term care
- or so much more
You've come to the right place.

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
I was raised by my grandmother (an RN), so I always felt comfortable around the world of medicine. I’ve been interested and active in social justice since I was a teenager, before I even knew the term. Witnessing both my grandmother and my younger brother go through cancer instilled my need to get involved. I fell in love with life sciences, and genetics in particular.
In college, aiming to go into genetic counseling, I dove more into science, medical sociology, and health policy. After college, 2 consecutive terms in AmeriCorps led me away from genetic counseling but straight into my subsequent, somewhat unexpected career managing homes and supported living services for adults with disabilities. I found I loved working with the IDD population and I was able to learn, expand, and practice much of my advocacy knowledge under the wonderful guidance of my directors. While I still do some remote work/consultation for my old organization, I finally decided to transition into independent advocacy to continue extending my impact, sharing my skills, and deepening my knowledge.
