Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
At the age of 21, I helped my parents navigate my dad’s battle with metastatic melanoma, an experience that inspired me to become a nurse. Ten years later, I became an advocate for my 32-year-old husband facing that same aggressive cancer. These personal experiences, combined with over twelve years of clinical knowledge and navigating the healthcare system have fueled my passion for making the patient’s voice be heard and empowering them to walk with confidence through uncertainty. As a Beacon of Light founder, I seek to use my knowledge, voice, and resources to advocate and support you in your decisions, and provide compassion as you and your family seek the best possible outcome while providing compassion and support in your decisions along the way.
