Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
Since 2007, my advocacy journey has grown from caring for my parents into a lasting commitment to helping others navigate complex healthcare systems. Supporting my father through hypertension taught me how demanding even common conditions can be, and I quickly became his voice—asking questions, clarifying instructions, and helping him manage the routines that kept him stable.
Caring for my mother through diabetes brought a different set of challenges. From coordinating her meals to understanding her medications, I became her organizer and emotional anchor. Walking with her through each adjustment deepened my patience and showed me how powerful small, consistent habits can be.
These experiences shaped me into a confident, compassionate advocate. By 2015, I began extending this support to friends and extended family, recognizing how many people feel lost in our fragmented healthcare system. Losing my father in 2018 and my mother in 2019 only strengthened my purpose. Their influence continues to guide me as I help others navigate the often cold and confusing world of healthcare.
