My Survivor Support Advocacy Qualifications
I am a survivor of Alloimmunization, Isoimmunization, Rh Disease, Rh incompatibility, Hemolytic Disease of the Fetus and Newborn (HDFN)
I have worked in the healthcare field dealing with treatment plans and insurance coverage for over 14 years now. I have gone through my own journey with my daughter in 2022 when I was diagnose with Maternal Alloimmunization.
Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
I was diagnosed with a rare disease while pregnant with my second daughter in 2022, called Maternal Alloimmunization. It was extremely scary but we got her here safely. After she was born, she needed several treatments including 2 blood transfusions, the first one I had to advocate and push for. After she was released from her treatments, I learned that while this disease is rare, there are many who have it who are lost and trying to navigate it all while worrying they will lose their child. I became involved with a non-profit organization and it has become my passion to change the way this disease is managed and treated. Physicians are not on the same page when it comes to treatment of this disease and innocent babies are dying because of it. These lives can be saved.

Additional Skills
In addition to my passion for bringing change to the healthcare system on how rare diseases are treated and handled, I have over 14 years of experience in healthcare as an administrative office professional. I know the ins and out of health insurance, coverages, etc. Currently, I work with getting prior authorizations for surgeries. I have also previously worked in the Emergency Department, Front Desk in various specialty offices, and as a Surgical Coordinator. I just want to help patients understand their insurance coverage, treatments, and what is going on in general for them.
