My Survivor Support Advocacy Qualifications
I am a survivor of Dry eye, Anxiety
I experienced several significant personal family tragedies in a short time. During that time frame I happened to be among the first few to arrive at the scene of a fatal auto vs pedestrian accident and was unable to assist in any way. These events magnified each other and triggered an anxiety syndrome for which I had to seek counseling. Some of the techniques I learned in those therapy sessions still benefit me today.
Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
Since the beginning of my nursing career in 1994 patient advocacy has been pivotal in serving my patients. It is central to my professional practice to help patients (and, when they allow, their families) understand their options. I believe patients have the right to choose their path to a life with better health.
