How I Can Help
I help individuals and families navigate new, rare, chronic, and complex health conditions by identifying trusted resources, expert organizations, support networks, and next steps tailored to their situation.

Many people leave a medical appointment with important information but still feel unsure where to turn. I help clients make sense of diagnoses, prepare for medical appointments, organize healthcare information, evaluate resources, and connect with organizations that can provide ongoing education and support.

My goal is to help patients and caregivers move forward with greater clarity, confidence, and a personalized roadmap for what comes next.

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
I am a board-certified patient advocate with over two decades of personal and professional experience in healthcare navigation and case management. My journey into advocacy began with a master's degree in forensic psychology from John Jay College of Criminal Justice in New York City, where I gained deep experience helping individuals through complex challenges in the court system, often involving mental health and substance use issues.

My path took a new direction when our young daughter was diagnosed with polycystic kidney disease (PKD), an experience that transformed my personal commitment to healthcare advocacy. Supported by the PKD Foundation community, I realized the immense impact of asking the right questions and finding quality care from the beginning. This experience fueled my dedication to helping others navigate the overwhelming emotions and isolation that often come with life-changing diagnoses.

My passion for advocacy grew as I continued my education, earning a certification in Consumer Health Advocacy and training with the University of Wisconsin-Madison’s Center for Patient Partnerships. This time, my work was hands-on in the field of patient advocacy—learning how to empower clients to find their voices and navigate their own healthcare journeys with confidence.

As a member of the “sandwich generation,” I bring empathy and expertise from my experience supporting both my daughter with chronic illness and a parent with Lewy Body Dementia. Despite my professional experience, I've also faced the same complex healthcare system challenges as my clients, including the unique hurdles in obtaining care through the Veterans Administration for my father, a Vietnam Veteran.

Each day I continue to appreciate the importance of advocacy in our healthcare system and I am here to help empower you through your journey by giving you back your time so you can focus on your health and what's important to you.
