Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
My motivation to become a professional patient advocate stems from a lifelong commitment to helping others enhance their health outcomes. Initially pursuing a pre-med track during my undergraduate years with the intent to attend medical school, I eventually transitioned to a corporate career in biopharmaceutical sciences where I became an expert in Quality/Regulatory and also gained experience in Medical Affairs translating data into scientific communications aimed at informing key medical experts (medical doctors and scientific experts) in the field. My career journey prompted me to seek a more patient-centric impact.

My experiences advocating for family members with neurological (Parkinson's Disease) and rare diseases (Transverse Myelitis) and recognizing the increasing need for patient advocates in healthcare for those with common diseases, especially among underserved populations, inspired me to deepen my expertise. My experiences, coupled with my personal values, drive me to support others as a professional patient advocate.
