How I Can Help
I can assist with advocacy for Medical issues, information that patients do not understand, and help with questions that patients may have about their disease, condition, and/or symptoms. Also, I can provide help with answering questions about bills, Medicare and other insurance explanation of benefits (EOB). I also assist with getting Prior authorization ( permission from the insurance company to have a test, procedure or drug that the patient deems is needed for his/her health.

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
We have a disparate broken medical system and I have prided myself in my practice and other jobs in being able to clarify the issues and help patients and families better understand their conditions and options.
I recently helped and 85 y/o man who had a fall, stroke and increased leg pain. Patient was hospitalized with numerous problems and then to a rehab facility where he received some help. He had to be re-hospitalized and ultimately sent to a nursing home for additional therapy. I worked with the patient and his significant other to explain all that had happened, helped pinpoint his leg pain and swelling that turned out to be thrombophlebitis with associated edema. Patient worked with physical therapy to improve his gait and activities of daily living (ADLs) and eventually return home.
