Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
With over 20 years of healthcare experience in both the Hospital and Pharmaceutical Reimbursement setting I have seen the shift from patient centered care, to an overburden system. Recently, with my mother receiving a terminal stage 4 colon cancer diagnosis, I have felt the shift and experienced it firsthand. There have been denied CT scans, denied Chemotherapy regimens, missed follow ups on ordered tests and procedures, simply because there was no one advocate and no one person within the healthcare systems to close the loop between multiple disciplinary teams. It's because of these misfortunes my longtime friend turned business partner, and I felt no patient deserves to be left behind and why we formed Empower Health Advocates to create healthier futures in the communities we serve.
