Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
I took a hiatus from work this year to care for my family and friends who needed my skills, experience and advice to make appropriate healthcare decisions, advocate for themselves, and navigate the challenges of our healthcare system. I find great reward in doing this work, and I see a great need for this, especially for those who are not fortunate enough to have a friend or family member in the healthcare industry to guide them. It is easy to get lost in the shuffle between providers who do not collaborate. My job is to be your guide to achieve the best healthcare outcomes you possible, and to set you and your caregivers up to be able to care for you appropriately.
I am an active listener with strong critical thinking skills, a problem solver and a passionate patient advocate. My clinical background experience includes oncology, dialysis, orthopedics and telemetry nursing, along with 20 years of nursing leadership in hospital, outpatient and community settings.
