How I Can Help
Over the last 23 years I have worked in various nursing roles. I have cultivated a strong sense of compassion in interpersonal dynamics. I have grown in my capacity to communicate and deeply listen. I understand how to collaborate with providers, DME companies, insurance companies both in acute and home health care settings.
Embracing a wide variety of novel circumstances as a travel nurse in critical care has helped me to cultivate an enthusiastic, confident attitude when encountering both unconventional opportunities and complex challenges in the realm of healthcare. I have been employed in culturally and economically diverse settings throughout the United States. I have willingly and joyfully treated clients of all races, religions, sexual orientations, genders and creeds. I maintain a calm, grounded disposition and find myself devoted to serving clients in a collaborative way.
From working in acute care settings like ICU, neuro interventional radiology and PACU, I have developed the ability to respond with ease in chaotic, unpredictable healthcare scenarios by bringing forth critical thinking skills and advanced clinical skills. The specialized experience in high acuity, fast paced settings has helped me to become more available to others by staying alert, finding clarity in crisis and maintaining a sense of centeredness when immediate, thorough action is required. By developing the capacity to remain present for client’s and staff in intense, quick paced work environments, I have become proficient in trusting my own nursing wisdom.
As an oncology nurse, I discovered great satisfaction in sharing spaces of empathy with patients. I learned to navigate processes and transitions in my own life honestly and vulnerably. By witnessing the tremendous unraveling and courage that oncology patients experience through the course of their illness, I discovered how resilient humans can be.
With my work as a hospice nurse I have contributed to clients by participating in a number of positions from case management to admissions. I have worked a number of after hour and night on call shifts with hospice where frequent, clear and precise telephone conversation, triage and coordination is necessary to treat and support patients and families in unfamiliar and distressing situations. Quick shifts in priorities became essential as I learned to identify and meet clients in whatever needs were arising on a moment to moment basis. Often this occurred in a telehealth setting until I was able to arrive in person to provide care. I have spent many hours coordinating with medical equipment vendors, pharmacies and doctors.
I have enjoyed learning innovative ways to express my love for humanity. I hope to apply all I have learned over my nursing career in this role as a patient advocate. I love meeting clients wherever they may be on their desired path.
I honor a client’s steps towards wellness or the request for presence and support in their final stages of life. I will show up with passion, grace and care no matter what the circumstance.

Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
My own healthcare path began in the late 1990’s. Recently diagnosed with Lyme disease, I was learning to self infuse IV antibiotics into a PICC line. I spent almost a year in the healthcare model, prior to diagnosis, seeking the answer to the strange and vague symptoms I had been experiencing. Some of my interactions with healthcare professionals were inspiring and steered me towards the choice to attend nursing school. Other moments, with some providers, were more difficult. Interestingly enough, this also motivated me to become a nurse. I wanted to bring more care, love, healing and listening to healthcare as well as clinical expertise. I wanted clients to feel heard, empowered, to know they were not alone, and to have hope!
