Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
I have always felt called of this work. It has evolved as a natural outgrowth of my guiding and advising thousands of patients and families throughout my 30 years as an emergency medicine physician. I have patiently and with plain language helped them gain understanding of complex acute treatment options, new diagnoses, end of life care and almost everything in-between. I am acutely aware that interacting with the complexity of today's healthcare system needs advocacy and guidance.
