Why I Became A Professional Health Care Advocate
Throughout my career, I have been asked "What kind of nurse are you?" My honest response is, "A really good one." My confident answer comes from a place of passion. I love being a nurse. Sure, the clinical stuff is fun, but the foundation of genuinely caring about the person is what matters and where I thrive. I seek to understand the patient's wishes and help them attain their desired outcomes. I believe in being an active listener and having open communication. I love breaking complex topics down and offering explanations to help ease people's minds. Empowering and educating people is at the top of my favorite roles as a nurse and goes with my mantra of "ask the questions, question the answers."
